I Apologize

October 2, 2008

For the last five months “Predictions” has traveled around the country visiting cities from Atlanta to Jacksonville to New Orleans to Houston to Austin to Santa Fe to Taos.

Atlanta is having a serious housing problem, they won’t sell.  And reading the news now, people are scared about lack of gasoline, because the metro area is so large, it takes some people an hour to travel 14 miles.  Way too large of an area.  Any major gas shortage will put their residents in one heck of a situation.  Additionally, during the summer they were having water problems, with their water reserves being the lowest in years.  Will they eventually run out of water?

Jacksonville is a large city on the Gulf.  Any city on the Gulf has a high probability of hurricane damage.  Their turn will eventually come.

New Orleans.  It is coming back.  Since the 1700’s when New Orleans was founded, they have lived through major city wide fires, floods (including Katrina), yellow fever epidemic and the Civil War.  In each, tens of thousands of people have either died or fled the city.  After each, more people come back.  The city has grown after each and the ethnic background of the city changes.  Today, there are more Spanish than before and less black.  Great food and it seems to be a large “little” city.  It has an ambiance like no where else in the country.  It has character ! !

Houston.  For years I have predicted that Houston would be hit by a major hurricane.  They lucked out.  Not only was this not a major hurricane but as I watched the hurricane on a 10 minute delay radar, it turned ever so slightly to the east, saving Houston from the worst catastrophe it has ever seen.  With the increased number of hurricanes coming and the intensity increasing, Houston will one day get hit by the BIG ONE.  By the way, if you are looking for large, Houston is the third largest city in the country and the metro area is WAY to large

Austin.    It’s a beautiful place and very desirable place to live, but because of the state not paying property taxes, the property taxes for homeowners in Austin are very high.  Some older people have lost their home because they can’t pay the taxes.

Santa Fe.  Great city.  I love it.  It has a western city atmosphere.  All the cities out west are and will have even more problems about water.  Without major technology, they will lose their water supply.

Taos.  Another GREAT western city.  Not too much snow.  Another super place to live.
